We climbed to the peak of the moor on paths lined with old flag stones from disused mills. The usually boggy Pennine Way was very dry. We passed the Black Moss and Swellands reservoirs before meeting up with the A62 where we took the Oldham Way down into Diggle.
R at the border between Yorkshire and Lancashire. No border guards on duty.
We also passed a small reservoir specifically used to feed the canal at Diggle.
