After about two and a half hours of flat walking today, and all day yesterday on the Macclesfield Canal, there was a sudden change. We came to the Bosley flight of locks. There were 12 of them in a very short distance. At least today they were going down hill.
I've just shown a few representative views. At the side of the locks there were cunning water storage pools so that water could be shared when boats were going up and down.
A little further on, at bridge 65 both Shiel and I felt we were being watched. We probably imagined it
Half an hour before the turn off to Congleton railway station the vegetation was still pretty overgrown. We arrived at the turn off at 2pm. However we decided to walk on to Congleton. At first on the canal and then the road. We came back to Macclesfield on the bus.
